Self-Driving Cars Would Slash Traffic, End Street Parking

When you see black and white photographs of residential city street scenes 100 years ago, there's a complete lack of parked cars. That?s not surprising given that only the rich owned them. One of the neat bonuses of driverless, computer-driven cars, experts predict, will be a return of empty side streets. Because people will likely no longer own vehicles but rent them when the need arises, it will result in a massive cut in the number of vehicles on the roads.
