The Wall Street Journal: In Paris, Airbnb to warn hosts over illegal rentals
Airbnb Inc. will start warning members who appear to be violating housing laws in the French capital, a new step by the home-sharing firm to crack down on tourist apartments that cities say are squeezing out local residents.
Why All Employees Should Know The History Of Your Organization
I recently marveled in the famous, historical architecture of the Arc de Triomphe while in Paris. The city is full of history and that is a lot of what makes it a wonderful place. That really got me wondering how often organizations think about their history. There are many companies that are well over 100 years old... how many of those have retained the history of where they came from and their original values? Employees need to know the history of their organization to understand the challenges it has overcome and incorporate that into how they work. This will reap a sense of pride and purpose in their work instead of employees just showing up to get paid with no meaning. So I challenge you this week to remember your organization's history and consider how you can incorporate it into the present and future!

Online reviews of the interviewing process and what it's like to work at a company are putting more pressure on organizations to shore up their employer brands.

Estate Denied Discounts For Marketable Security Family Limited Partnership
Estate planners will want to take a close look at the Tax Court decision in Estate of Sarah D. Holliday. It is an instance of the IRS attacking a family limited partnership discount and winning in a case where the execution of the plan was not really that weak. This decision makes me nervous about getting discounts for any family limited partnership that consists solely of marketable securities.
